Anticipation...

This has been a long yet short week, and its not even done yet. However, my weekend starts in just a few hours. But I still have much to do today:

- Work till 4-5
- Haircut
- Macys/Target - for last minute shopping
- Racquetball? Work Out?
- Shower
- LOST - Season Finale 9-11
- Pack - Bookbag and duffel
- Go to DC?? - Meet up with Samuel and others

A lot to do, yet so little time... and to make matters worse, I have no sporadic cell signal at my desk, and no access to personal email(including facebook/myspace messages). So the parts that need to integrate my schedule or time with someone else, are more complicated.... But such is life, and it only makes the good times better.

Brokebacking It For Memorial Day

I hate the font Times New Romans. It really irks the hell out of me and I never ever use it. Even if I'm just typing myself a quick note on Stickies or something I have have have to change the font to something a lot more appealing to the eye. Times New Romans is hideous!! Helvetica is my fave when I'm on my Macbook, and the shoddy PCs here don't provide such a luxury, so I use Arial, which isn't half bad. But I'm over that.

I just finally got around to reading Justin's Memorial Day Weekend posts, after deciding that working in an enviroment that isn't sufficiently [is that spelled correctly? The little red lines are showing up. P3niS. See!] Anyway, my job isn't sufficiently air conditioned right now so I decided to come to back and update all on my weekend. Having a partial headache doesn't help much either. That's the kind that only hurts on one side of your brain. Today it's the left side.

Memorial Day Weekend Sheninagans started Friday evening after work. Travis picked me up and we headed to my place so I could finish packing for the weekend and pick up my clothing that needed to be washed, which was gonna be done at his place. An hour later, he's having a beer at some asian place and I'm waiting on the street in front of my house. I graciously take this time to call some friends (Sorry Justin by some friends I mean I only got to Leila) to say my possibly final goodbyes. I figured I'd get eaten by a bear or die of internet-deprivation. It's a real disease, look it up!! Anyway, we down redbulls on the way to his place, blasting The Veronicas-Hook Me Up album. A quickstop at Giant for some much needed necessities [sp?] (travis doesn't own lotion and only has one type of shampoo...and NO CONDITIONER! btw he had the audacity to tell me I would save money if I bought the combo Shampoo/Conditioner thing. I gave him a dirty look.) We drink, dance to Bedtime Stories by Madonna and romp around =]. Saturday morning Rae, Travis' bestie wakes us up at the ungodly hour of 8 and we semi pack, dress, and get out the house. Meanwhile, Travis' dog Mojito chews on something rubbery, which turns out...to be a condom. EWWWWWWW. dogs are tres nast yo! Sooooo...long story short:

I need your help!!!

So this weekend I'm going to Rehoboth. I've heard some people refer to it as the East Coast Gay Mecca. It being my first time, and the fact that its highly likely I'll be showin alot of skin, I want your opinion on a few matters.

First, I need a swimsuit, and soon. Where can I go and how much should I expect to pay? Boyshorts? Speedo ;) ? Trunks? I have no idea, and I need to decide soon.
Is universal gear the best(or maybe even ONLY) option?

Second, should I shave my face? No moustache or beard?

Third, should I shave/trim... ummm.... down there? LOL, but i'm serious...

Fourth, what is good beach attire?

Your help, ideas, suggestions are greatly appreciated

Memorial Day weekend part 2

I was supposed to write this the other day... but whatever. Sunday rolls around and I'm ready for Taint. Since I have nothing better to do and the roommates work sunday mornings, I get up, work out, eat breakfast, and do some cleaning all before 12, with the hopes of heading out to DC soon after. However, everyone and their mother are not in town, headed to a bbq or picnic, or not responding at all. So I just stay home and play video games for a while. Later my roommate comes in with his "african concubine" so I'm like, maybe I should leave.
Finally around 5, I leave the house. I tell a few people I'm gonna be in DC, and hope that they will make it out or something. I get to dupont after 6, and remember that the black pride festival, ends at 5. I walk around for a lil towards 17th street, then pick up a metro weekly. I realize the festival actually ends at 6. I'm still late, but there is hope yet. As I walk back through the circle... I see sam and his friend. I grab the metro weekly, and cover my face. Then, I suspiciously walk up next to them, and take seat, with my face buried in the magazine. Somehow they knew it was me, and took a picture. So we hung out at the circle for a while, and inadvertently made this creepy dude think we were taking pictures of him. At which point, he made a ruckus.
As we continued to walk around I get a text from Brian, older dude who does karoake...A LOT. I figure I'll respond later. A few minutes later, who do I see at DIK. Brian. I say hi make small talk, and go back to sam. At that moment, sam decides to put his arm around me and his other friend as we walk down the street. And I can't help but wonder what goes through Brian's mind, lol. At the border of the gay section(17th and P), we stop cuz someone says hi to sam. As we are there, I see this dude walking up the street. He looks familiar... but how. I don't say anything as he walks past us. He's cute in "happy-go-lucky" way. I then realize I have seen him before... at work. Does this mean he's gay, i'm not one to jump to conclusions, but I'm definitely gonna make sure I say Hi to him, if I see him out there or even at work.
Sam offers to give me a ride to freddies, as they make their drive home. In the car, his friend offers me Natural Cheetos, I decline cuz I don't eat cheese anymore. Then, she offers me a Rocher's chocolate, and again I declince saying I don't like chocolate. She tells her fear of meat story, and a meat challenge she completed, and I let her coax me into trying the chocolate. And the deal was i had to get all the way into the nut center. It was terrible at first, and didn't get much better. Although it wasn't as bad as I expected, and i ended up eating almost all of it, cuz the taste was already in my mouth, so why not.
Anyways, I met up with Cait and Matt, who I know through Kevin at freddies. Its the first time I've been since July, when I also went with them. They're cool peoples and the drag show was ok-ish. They "performed" for like 40 seconds, then walked around for the rest of each song collecting bills. However, this one "queen" had really good implants, really good. We even questioned her masculinity. We left there around 11:15 and walked to a nearby McDs and chilled. I checked the metro schedule and the last one was leaving crystal city at 11:46. We left McDs at 11:30, and the time soon jumped to 11:37. And the metro station is like 4-5 blocks away. So I say bye, and run my but off. I make it in time, and with 3 minutes to spare.
I get off at U st, cuz I'm heading to Tiant. Zack, Rick and some other people are there, so I'm good. Taint was alright that night, I mainly chilled and hung out with the group I knew. And continue to drink, cuz Zack kept goin to the bar and coming back with 3 drinks and telling us to take. Afterwards, they all were going to go eat. however, everyone else except zack lives in VA. And he was going to stay over one of their houses, i guess. So they left, and i decided to go back in. taint soon closed down, and I didn't see any familiar faces, or any highly approachable people. So I walk to an ATm and get cash, and after flagging down 3-4 cabs, I finally find one will to drive to MD, I hop in and the night is done.

Memorial Day Weekend Part 1

After a long week, of doing minimal work at work. Friday rolls around, and there are only 3 of us there. So I figure I should leave early. However, leave early to do what? I know, find someone new to meet, and meet someone I already "know". So I log on to msn messenger, and see that this dude who goes to UMD is on. I chat for a lil bit, and ask if he remembers me. He says yeh, so I see if he wants to meet. I head to maryland from work, and I wait at the stamp. I walk around looking for him, but I don't see the person who I thought he was. I didn't take his number, so I email his msn. About an hour later, he responds from his phone, so I call him. He was just leavin, and I tell him to meet me in front of the building. Then I see him, and he sees me, and we both realize we are mistaken. And we almost make an attempt to make the best of it. We walk around and decide to get some food. I attempt to ask questions and start a conversation, but he in his proper, timid asian style gives one word answers, and after we eat our McDs snack wraps, he says he has to go, and we part ways. And that's one person to cross off the buddy list. Lesson relearned... its ok to say "No", you don't have to be a friend to every one, and Asians suck!!(j/k they know how to make rice, and lead in technology, so they're still cool)

Next, because Taint is on Sunday Night and I try to have a balanced weekend, I decide that I should spend Friday/Saturday nights with the older(non-gay) friends. Friday night, we went to a friends house for haystacks. Not my fave meal, but I guess it beats bread. After we ate, names of a few... ummm "effeminate" guys came out. And the homophobic-ish comments came out, some of which were funny. But anyways, one of my roomates posed a question to the group. "What would you do, if you're son... turned out to be gay?" The tone and attitude of the room turn into one of despondence and contemplation. No one really answered the question, a few snide jokes were made, and then they gave a few theories or stories they've heard about how people become gay. Eventually the conversation went to religion, and then on to music, and listening to the new Tye album.

The next day, after church, we passed by Union Station so the other roommate can go to a store real quick. As we were waiting, and talking in the car, there were three interesting people-watching moments. First, this dude walking around had blue fingernails, which one guy pointed out to us. Later, he actually whipped out the polish, and continued to do his nails, right there on the street. At which point, my friend figured out he was gay, cuz Man + Nail Polish = Gay. Second, this guy was standing behind us, and he was HOT!! I think he was a student, hand a keychain with "Yale" on it. And he was gorgeous! So I took a number of glances at him, while the other people in the car talked about that first dude. Thirdly, a car pulled up next to us, and had a dog in it. Which got the attention of the other people in the car. As they were looking at the car, a guy coming out of union station got in, and gave the other guy a kiss on the lips. Which caught us all by surprise, and yielded "not so nice" remarks from my friends. So I think about telling them some of the truth, about how I feel, what I think about, who I chill with, and where I go. But these little situations, tend to make me believe that they can't handle it. And in the closet, I remain.

Saturday night, I was going to attempt to go to DC, check out some black pride event, but before I got dressed, some really good friends from college called to see if I could hangout. So I decided to go with them. Cuz they are good friends, and deserve my attention. I remember one of the last times we really hung out, how amazingly rude I was to them. We were going to see a movie, The Prestige, at Tysons that night. But before I met up with them, I was helping an online friend complete a computer project. Cuz IM'ing on my phone, is easy, I continued to help him. Even while in the movie theater. So much so, that some random person near me, asked me to close my phone cuz the light was distracting. I then, covered the light with my jacket and continued to help my friend with his project. Eventually we finished it, over an hour into the movie. As I look back, I wonder if that person would have done the same for me at that time... No. Would they do it now?... most likely not. But that experience does help me realize how I should change, my attitude. Cherish and enjoy the friends I have. Its good to make new friends and all, but keep it in perspective. As the saying goes, "Don't make someone your priority, when you are only their option."
