this past week(s)... pt 2

Wednesday - Another collectively late start, all of us(roommates) were still home at 9:45, definitely not progress. Work was alright, and I was planning/hoping for a good trivia night. The usual team was supposed to be there, and my 1st place team from last week MAY have been going as well. And as I was working out, I came up with the awesomest team name for the team name challenge. The winning teams usually have funny and/or topical and/or offensive team names. Last weeks was, "Octuplets, its a vagina.. NOT a clown car." So the idea that came to mind... "Hit Me With Your Best Shot (Remix) by Chris Brown and Rihanna." At trivia, I joined some random people, and we used that as our name. And amazingly randomly when we were handing in the first round sheets, when they get to see everyone's name, the actual song "Hit me with your best shot" by Pat Benatar(??) came on the speakers. So I knew it was meant to be. Either way, we(I) did win the best team name, and I took a pic on my phone of the coupon, then got the free bucket o' beer for the table. We lost both games, and then I headed to the metro.
While switching cars at the next metro station, I bumped into this guy, or he bumped into me, mad hard, and I was like whatever. At the next stop, he gets into the same car as I am, and gets in my face like What'd you say when you bumped into me? and talking all this crap, and continued to get riled up. He ended up "threatening me" and then getting off at the next stop right as the door closed. He ended up grabbing my phone out of my hand (while I was listening to one of my current fave songs). I then went to the metro conductor to report it, but he didn't even bother to open the window. So I got off at the next station and ran cuz the opposite direction train was coming, but I missed it by like 10 seconds. So I reported it there, and random ladies on the same cart left their info to testify and whatever. Eventually I got home, changed away messages/statuses and went to bed.

Thursday, actually made it to work before 10. Finally got a paycheck, the first since Jan 9. Which makes me believe that I need a new job. And Friday after work, I got something saying I may not have Health Insurance. So that's even more motivation for a new job.

Friday I did a lot of cleaning after work. While waiting to go to our barber friends house. Getting a haircut after midnight on fridays, its definitely not the ideal time... but it works out. And one side benefit of this friend. Is the fact that he's the only straight friend who will actually ask questions about the gay aspect of my life. Its funny at ties, because you can hear the hesitation and specific choice of words in his questions, but at least he tries.

Saturday - Originally I was supposed to hang with the closest person that would qualify as an "ex" on Thursday, but since I had no phone it wasn't confirmed and we just said it could happen on saturday afternoon. So we got to meet later on in the day and basically we chilled for the rest of the night. Hanging out with him was good because it reminded me of things I forget so often. He's basically the only guy where there was mutual interest, that wasn't just physical. Where we both attempted to try and make something of it. So if anything it was a good dose of hope, an affirmation of what can one day be. Most likely not with him, but at least a hope within myself that I can attain that in general. As I was getting back home, I got this potentially drunken text from someone. I allowed it to affect me, which I know I shouldn't.

Looking back at my choices, experiences and doings... I realize that I'm at a "different" place right now. My work status looks like it needs to, and will, be changed in the near future-ish. I'm attempting to get my driver's license by the end of march, so that will be fun. I'm trying HARDER to see/understand the truth about a couple people, and myself, which should hopefully result in growth. I'm looking forward to see where this month takes me, and will hopefully be more mindful of my goals in life and being happy enjoying the journey to get there.
