My other uncle and his family came over to the family's house in NYC for Thanksgiving dinner. He lives in Ohio, has a boy and a girl, 12 and 14, I think. He is a big family man, and at the same time his wife, originally from MD, is one who prefers to keep her children sheltered. So the children have this inner urge to be with family, but don't always have that chance. We were able to actually hang with them, and you could just see how much they enjoyed it. The girl even teared up, because she didn't get to see my nieces at church, before they had to leave. The boy was talking about how he wished he had a brother as well.
I think about their actions and words that remind me of how lucky I am. When I'm with my bros, we can go play basketball, video games, board games, scrabble, etc... Its somewhat cool. There are lots of people who are an only child, or have just one sibling, and I got 4. I'm just very thankful for them and my family. This was a good thanksgiving.
