Last night on "The Daily Show", the guest was William Kamkwamba who at the age of 14 while living in an African village, took parts from a bicycle and a tractor and created a windmill based on one picture he found. Its pretty cool and inspiring. This just sorta added fuel to an already burning fire.
I want to create. I want to have something to "show" for my time. I don't fully know what, at this point. But I just wanna go. Its why I joined the 48 hour film festivals, partly why I sometimes attempted to have a couple themed blog posts, and I feel that its something I can do. Both of those were failures, in some ways... but gotta try right?
When I chose to continue working at my current location, I knew it could easily get boring, like now. AND that if I wanted better experience, I need to be proactive about and do my part. I made a bet on myself and promised that I would stop being lazy and begin doing something. On that note, I have made some personal career goals; like getting a graduate certificate from UMUC and/or taking a night class at USDA gradschool, which I procrastinated on, so it wont begin till January-ish.
In the meantime tho, I want to create. I've been looking at tutorials online to try and make an iphone and/or android app. Maybe even incorporate twitter on them somehow, and use that to incorporate my desire to create, with my goal of "career betterment". I still need a good idea for it, tho.
So basically I want to use my creativity in some productive way. Whether, I write about a topic that adds/helps something in some way, or do a short movie/clip that is enjoyable, create a useful mobile phone application, or some other idea that I have yet to discover.
Any thoughts/ideas?
