Friday - At work, everything is messed up. The Q-Bank website was down because of an error in the change we did on the previous day. The server has been down, and the lady in charge was showing the problem and what she did to try and fix it. She was leaving for most of the next few weeks, and the main IT guy was in NY for his mom's funeral and such. So I missed basketball, and didn't even eat lunch till after 3. I left round 5 and texted people to see what was going on at night, and when I got home I played games for 20 or 30 minutes then fell asleep. After midnight, I woke up and realized I slept way too long. I ended up grabbing a late dinner at Annie's with Kevin, who had just got off of work and missed dinner himself.
Saturday - Went to a combined birthday lunch potluck for me, my roommate and another old friend from school. It was pretty good food, and we watched a movie and just had a good chill time. Around 10 me and the one roommate and another friend, went to K St lounge, where a different friend from school was celebrating his birthday. Luckily, we didn't have to pay a cover. It was smaller than I thought it would be, and it was cool that I got to spend time out with the non-gays. I took some pictures with people and after a couple drinks and a shot of 151 with the roommate, around 1 am, took a cab to 17th st. I got to see the GMU/VA peeps at McDs, then hung with Freddy & Co at DIK bar. Pretty cool/lowkey night, and we ended up just hanging outside for most of it.
Sunday - 2 people who were "attending" the scavenger hunt(according to fb), let me know that they weren't gonna make it. So my count was 8-10. I was even late and when I got to DC, there was only guy who made it on time. So I decided to just get brunch and see if more people would respond. Freddy came out next, and we decided to go to Jrs for $2 Skyys. While there, he saw this online thing for the Coolout which was 4 blocks down, near the HRC. We checked it out, and it was awesome. It was on a rooftop, no cover and just a really nice view. We hung there for a couple hours and a couple other friends came and left. Then, the other 3 guys came and more pictures and chillin followed. Then we went back to Jrs, and then dinner at cobalt(where I was the only one to eat). Afterwards, we split up and me and freddy made our way back to Md, and he dropped me off at home.
All in all, it wasn't a bad week/weekend. The "plans" didn't succeed, but I did get to spend those days with some good friends. At cobalt freddy sorta asked me "what I learned from 22?", I didn't answer then. But I'd say I've learned to be more realistic with my plans and goals, and that I should try to be more open and honest with the truths and realities that make up that thing called life.
"Bring It, 23!" Lets see how this one goes.
